Now that the world seems to finally be opening up again from the COVID-19 pandemic, a cruise is at the top of the list for many people. There are a lot of options, and if you’re sailing from a Florida port, then you can find a cruise that will take you to many beautiful and incredibly popular destinations.

There are numerous ports in the Caribbean and elsewhere that have several ships docking each day. These places have exotic excursions and activities that have made them very popular in 2022. So, if you’re planning a trip back out onto the high seas, you may want to consider a cruise that captures one or more of these amazingly trendy destinations.

Nassau, Bahamas

The Bahamas is a group of hundreds of islands. The capital of these islands is Nassau, and it’s one of the busiest cruise ports you can find in the world. In fact, over three million passengers visit Nassau each year to get a little slice of island life.

If you’re thinking of visiting this popular port, you may want to book an excursion to one of its many beautiful beaches for a day of relaxation. Or you can book an excursion that will take you to Fort Fincastle, an 18th-century fort with a lot of history. If you want to shop, go no further than the Nassau Straw Market. You can fill an entire day off the boat with things to do in Nassau. It’s popular for a reason!

Cozumel, Mexico

Would you believe that once upon a time, Cozumel was an underdeveloped island that had some Mayan ruins buried deep in its jungles? That’s hard to see today, since this port of call is one of the most popular for history buffs and adventure seekers.

You can find a number of high-end resorts to visit here for the day if you want to participate in watersports or simply be spoiled by the beach. You can also sample local tequila, eat at various local restaurants, or book an excursion to one of the many unique sites of Mayan ruins where you can see history come to life.

The port of Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands is popular for its beauty and world-class snorkeling and scuba diving. The island also offers duty-free shopping right along with its white sand beaches. And animal lovers can spend the day at the Cayman Turtle Centre or Stingray City to commune with some of the locals.

Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos, particularly Grand Turk, is known for being one of the most budget-friendly and serene places to visit in the Caribbean. It has one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, making it a destination for divers and snorkelers. You can also catch ferries to various islands in the chain if you want to do a little exploring.

Key West, Florida

Key West may not seem all that exotic, but it really is an amazing place to visit on a cruise. You can find a variety of local restaurants that can wow you with local conch specialties or simply hang around and enjoy the crystal clear water and blue skies. If you’re a book lover, give Ernest Hemingway’s home a visit while you’re there or simply visit a few bars on Duval Street if that’s what you desire – you’re on vacation, after all!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Although Puerto Rico is still recovering from a hurricane, the charm has not left the city of San Juan. You can explore the city’s many historic sites, take in some amazing views on local hiking trails, eat at world-renowned restaurants, and visit nightclubs. It even has the Caribbean’s tallest mountain if you’re up for a real challenge.

St. Martin

St. Martin, also known as St. Maarten, is a very popular destination for cruise lines. It is owned by the French and Dutch and gets millions of visitors each year who want to take in the melding of these two cultures. You can go shopping on the Dutch side of the island or the French side and try out different types of food in each location, too.
